Professor Ann Reynolds, from the University of Texas at Austin, met Joan Jonas in 2006. They are both interested in Aby Warburg, the Hopi Rain Dance, and using bodies, props, sound, and video to tell a story about a story.

Reynolds is currently working on an essay for Jonas, to be published in the catalogue of the 2015 Venice Biennale, where Jonas will be representing the United States.

This event is organized by Anthony Huberman and is the first of a year-long series of events about and around the work of Joan Jonas.

The lecture begins at 3pm

P.S.: since Prof. Reynolds's lecture is based on her unpublished essay for the 2015 Venice Biennale, she understandably asked that we not post a recording of the event online.
