Josephine Pryde’s exhibition at the Wattis Institute in 2015 included a functioning model train running through the gallery at about two miles per hour. The “landscape” along the way was a suite of glossy photographs depicting hands touching or handling various objects and surfaces. Fond of museum souvenirs, Pryde has made a snow globe with an image of a hand within that rests in a silver hand.

Josephine Pryde lives and works in Berlin and London. Solo exhibitions of her work have been held at ICA Philadelphia, Kunsthalle Bern, and and Secession, Vienna, among others.
